The Rakes LIVE at Manchester Club Academy 23/04/09

Last Thursday Mark and me went to see The Rakes at The Manchester Club Academy. The Rakes are definitely in my Top Five! Mark isn't all that bigger fan but he still really enjoyed the performance.

Here's My Favourite song from the night

Wire Wrapped Amazonite and Pink Topaz Earrings- Indian Summer

I made these last week, but haven't had time to blog about them yet. I've chosen the name Indian Summer as they just seem to have that Asian appeal about them. I've used beautiful Pink Quartz droplets, hanging from Brass hoops that I have wrapped more brass wire around and then wrapped stunning Amazonite gems around as well. I love them so much I cannot bare to part with them. I'll make some more to sell though I'm sure!

Alice in Wonderland vintage style necklace- The white rabbit

I'm Late! I'm Late!

Hope you're all enjoying the lovely weather if it's as nice where you are as it is here! Mark and I had a lovely walk to the market today to pick up some bits. The sky was completely blue!

Here is a lovely addition to my Alice in Wonderland collection. My 'I'm Late! I'm Late!' necklace is a fabulous piece to add to anybody's Alice in Wonderland collection! I've used a gorgeous illustrated white rabbit cabochon pendant and complimented it with gold tone chain. I've tried something a little unique this time. One side of the chain is encrusted with fabulous diamonte whilst the other side features pretty fresh water pearls all finished with pretty pink ribbon!

Available in my Etsy and Folksy shop now!

Vintage Style Necklace- Carousel Horse!

The weather in Manchester today is fantastic and there are lots of people out and about. Unfortunately I've been out at work today but I'm still home in time to appreciate some sun shine.

A new creation- My vintage style 'Carousel Horse' necklace, comprising of a Large vintage carousel horse charm, Mother of pearl hearts and satin ribbon, on gold chain. Another simple but stunning design, suitable for going out at night, or casual days!

Available in my Etsy and Folksy stores later today!

Summer Kitsch Charm Bracelet- Fruit Salad!

I really couldn't believe how lovely Manchester was over the Easter Bank Holiday. I was inspired by all the sun shine to create some thing really bright, fun and kitsch! I've created this charm bracelet aptly named Fruit Salad as it reminds me of those sweets you used to have as a kid that were pink and orange.

I've crammed as much as possible on to this charm bracelet with carefully selected, unique charms and beads. I've included some really pretty vintage Lucite tear drops with cute floral print, large golden vintage strawberry beads, pink love hearts and orange flowers and pink leaves. If you look closely you can even find some cute little bells that tinkle when you move.

I love the way that pink and orange seem to compliment each other and they look great against the golden chain that's been used. Of course the bracelet wouldn't be complete without one of my signature satin bows.

Available in my Etsy Shop now!

Nautical Vintage Jewellery- Gone fishing necklace

I had an extra day off today, so I decided to make a bit of jewellery! The weather has been lovely here in Manchester, it's inspired me to create some spring/summer jewellery designs. I decided to use this wonderful unique looking vintage fish charm which is of a typical nautical theme and compliment it with peach and grey coloured freshwater pearls and gold chain. I'm really happy with the simplicity of this necklace as it still manages to look unique. I'm hoping to be making some more designs similar to this.

Available on Etsy and Folksy tonight.

Cup Cakes Galore!- My first Attempt!

I was up bright and early to to get all the bits needed to make some cup cakes. I have been looking longingly at some of the cup cakes people make and have been dying to have a go! I went along to my local market to buy a piping bag and other bits and the man on the cook wear stall said they are also opening a shop dedicated to cake making, so I'm very excited about that!

For these I followed Laura Sparling's recipe for Vanilla Cup cakes and made up my own design for the toppings! Of course the frosting had to be bright pink! I'm fairly pleased with the results!

The Prodigy: Live M.E.N Arena 10th April (Manchester Evening News Arena)

Mark and me went to see The Prodigy play live again on Friday, this time they played at the M.E.N Arena (Manchester Evening News Arena). It was FAB! This is the second time we have seen them and we just danced and danced all the way through it! We love the new album (Invaders Must Die) so couldn't wait to see what they had in store and we were not disappointed! At one point Keith and ran passed us around the edge of the arena!

Here's some of our video footage, please ignore my sweaty face I really was dancing my arse off!

Here's Mark and me at the end. Tired out form all the dancing and shouting!

Easter Gift!

As I'm watching my figure I asked Mark to buy me this book instead of an egg for Easter. There seems to be cup cakes every where at the moment, and I want to get in on the act! Inspired by Laura Sparling's wonderful creations (Laura how come you are so good at making absolutely everything?) I thought it was about time I had a go at making my own. This book has lots and lots of recipes and ideas!

I'm hoping to get started next week as I have a couple of days off. Lets hope I'm not then tempted to eat them all!

Alice in wonderland jewellery, Vintage inspired charm bracelet, Alice, The White Rabbit, The Mad Hatter...

Yes, I'm still here. I've had one of those weeks. Poor Mark, my partner was very ill on Monday and the doctor diagnosed a muscle virus and tonsillitis so he's literally been laid up in bed all week. He's feeling much better now though which is a relief!

Had a chance to make another Alice in Wonderland themed charm bracelet today as they have all sold, apart from one which I've reserved. This will be my last Alice in Wonderland themed bracelet for a while, as I focus on using up more of my materials before buying more charms and parts!

Available on Etsy and Folksy I'm also adding bits and pieces to ebay as I'm desperately trying to create more space in my apartment and raise extra money for our holiday. Here's a link. You just might spot something you like.
